Sam came to us when he was very tiny. About a year ago while everyone was at school and my dad was outside doing work out in the backyard, a tiny little squirrel found him and crawled up his leg. Now, this wasn't the first time he'd has squirrels coming up to him like that. Once before, while he was up in a tree, a medium sized squirrel crawled up his leg. Dad picked it up and put it on a branch away from him and before he knew it the squirrel had crawled right back onto him. Dad got down out of the tree this time, putting the squirrel in a little box and when we all got home from school we were able to see and carefully pet the squirrel. But this day, he saw that it was a really tiny squirrel and having seen a dead squirrel in the road near our house, he put the baby squirrel in a fish tank with towels, a cup of water, and a few ceerios. Sam grew quickly and now even though he isn't kept in a cage anymore and roams the trees around our house, he still comes home every now and then to say hi.
